Dr. Victoria Marwa Heilman is a registered practicing architect in Tanzania. She holds a Doctorate in Architecture from the University of Stuttgart, Germany (2016), a Master of Architecture from the Catholic University of America through a Ford Foundation scholarship, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Dar es Salaam — UCLAS.
A member of the Architects Association of Tanzania (AAT) and co-founder of the NGO Tanzania Women Architects for Humanity (TAWAH), she founded ALAMA (formerly VK Green Architects Ltd.) in 2012 while teaching at Ardhi University from 2001 to 2018.
A Ford Foundation IFP fellow (2004), Eisenhower Fellow (2016) and Mama Hope Global Advocate (2020), Victoria is a strong advocate of sustainable design and construction — visible across her teaching, research and designs — and continues TAWAH's mission of building adequate shelter for communities in need.
